Este proyecto se desarrolló en la biblioteca de la Sagrada Familia en A Coruña. El trabajo indaga en el proceso de construcción del imaginario simbólico e iconográfico de la emigración gallega a partir de un lugar concreto, el puerto de A Coruña. En este lugar se realizaron buena parte de las imágenes más representativas de la emigración gallega, y entre ellas, las fotografías de Alberto Martí y Manuel Ferrol sobresalen por la intensidad con la que supieron reflejar este momento histórico.
La investigación está centrada en las fotografías de Alberto Martí sobre la emigración recopiladas en el trabajo Os Adeuses: una de las principales fuentes de imágenes con las que se le ha puesto cara a la emigración en Galicia y con la que se identifica su mar, sus puertos, su costa, y su geografía.
Así pues, desde nuestra contemporaneidad, se realiza un recorrido entre testimonios e imágenes que invitan a reflexionar sobre la propia fotografía, la memoria y, por ende, sobre la identidad del puerto de A Coruña, hoy en día escenario para un turismo masivo y rápido que desembarca en nuestra ciudad a través del fenómeno del crucerismo.

Migrant Device
Is an artistic project developed at the Sagrada Familia library. The work delves into the process of constructing the symbolic and iconographic imagery of Galician migration from a specific place, the port of A Coruña. Many of the most representative images of Galician migration were captured at this location, and among them, the photographs by Alberto Martí and Manuel Ferrol stand out for their intensity in portraying this historical moment.
The research focuses on Alberto Martí’s photographs of migration compiled in the project Os Adeuses: one of the primary sources of images that have given a face to emigration in Galicia, representing its sea, ports, coastline, and geography.
Therefore, from our contemporary perspective, a journey is undertaken through testimonials and images that invite reflection on photography itself, memory, and, consequently, on the identity of the port of A Coruña, which today serves as a stage for fast and massive tourism facilitated by the phenomenon of cruise ships disembarking in our city.
